Upcoming Articles

In lieu of New Year's Resolutions, I'm posting a list of topics that I want to write about. I find that I have a bad habit of coming up with a topic, thinking a lot about it, but never actually writing about it. I want to write a bit more, so this post is to encourage me to actually write up the articles I'm thinking of.

Upcoming topics:
  1. Revisiting Warsong Gulch
  2. Selling Raid Spots (for Gwaendar ;) )
  3. Should Diminishing Returns from Honour Kills be Removed?
  4. Gear, Raiding, and Difficulty
  5. An Entry-Level Raid?
  6. Guild Application Questions
  7. Why Does the Shadow Priest Work as a Hybrid?
  8. My Super-Secret Crazy Idea
Hopefully these upcoming posts will be decent. As always, if you want to hear my thoughts on anything specific, feel free to email me or leave a comment.

Also, the Super-Secret Crazy Idea requires graphs, so if anyone knows a Windows program that allows you to quickly sketch good mathematical graphs, please post. Sadly there's a Mac program, Graph Sketcher, which is exactly what I am looking for, but there is no Windows version. I don't really want to resort to MS Paint or Excel.

  2. Number 2 looks interesting and does number 7. Looking forward to your thoughts on these subjects.

  3. Could you add to your list an article along the lines of helping an up and coming Proc pally (level 57) into Burning Crusade. I would like to stay Proc all the way to 70 and would like your thoughts on it. I like to AOE grind and would also like to get your insight on that as well.

Microsoft Viso is an excellent graph program.

  4. It was my understanding that Honor decay WAS removed when they last revamped the honor system, and changed it to a currency.

  5. You might want to try

  6. http://www.padowan.dk/graph/

Graph use f(x) rather than y= which is a bit of a pain, and i cant get it to do factorials, but i very much doubt that you need either.

It is an extremely useful way of drawing graphs and it fits in with MS Word as well.

  7. Yeah, it is kinda of weird that you have honor decay listed up there. Do you mean diminishing honor return where you get less every time you kill the same person in a battleground?

I vote for either the super secret idea or an entry level raid.

  8. Number 7 is a topic that intrests me most.

I originally chose a Paladin as a tank and a hybrid. The more I played, the more I realized the second part was the part I enjoyed the most - and the one that the current game design doesn't support.

I haven't played the game much the past 6 months (I've still been following it), but I'd like to know why/how Blizzard got one hybrid right, but failed with others.

  9. I really would be interested in hearing your thoughts about the Shockadin spec (40/0/21). As the only real mainstream "hybrid" build paladins currently have, I'm curious to hear your thoughts.

And of course, happy new year to you.

  10. Yes, I mean diminishing honour returns from killing the same person multiple times. I forgot about the old honor decay.

I'll see what I can do about the Shockadin spec and levelling as Prot.

  12. To go with your hit rating article, an article on the haste rating would be useful as a loot of Zul'Aman and Badges of Justice loot has haste rating but no hit rating at all (at least the rogue loot). Would it be better to stack haste instead of hit ?
