I'm at the point in the Legendary questline where I need to throw a lance at Nalak. (Yes, I've been slacking this expansion.)
However, no one seems to be killing Nalak anymore. There were some suggestions on Wowhead for soloing this stage of the questline. When I tried though, everything kept despawning on me.
I'm at a bit of a loss now. Any suggestions on what to do at this point?
Your safest bet is getting a tank friend to pick up Nalak while you kite the add around the room.
ReplyDeleteYou only need to survive 10 seconds or so.
I believe it's a bit longer than 10 seconds, but yes, all you need is a tank friend to survive for a few seconds while you kite the add that spawns.
ReplyDeleteAs the others said, you just need someone to keep Nalak off you while you kite an add. However if you want to find a group for Nalak, use oQueue.
ReplyDeleteI managed to solo this on my paladin using the Salyin Battle Banner to drop aggro on Nalak but kept kiting the add that spawned. But that was in 5.3, it may not work now.
ReplyDeleteIf you are there at 7pm or 8pm on the first day of the week, you might be lucky enough to find a raid group preparing to enter the Throne of Thunder. They might, in turn, be willing to join in while their team is getting ready.
ReplyDeleteI had my Unholy DK pop Army of the Dead and played meat shield long enough for my husband's mage to kite his needed add.
ReplyDeleteA shaman friend with an earth elemental works, too. I solo'd that part on my Enhancement Shaman using it.
ReplyDeleteIt may have been fixed, but if you're an engineer you can make a macro that activates the lance and a Gnomish Cloaking Device at the same time and the boss despawns while the quest add spawns unaffected.
ReplyDeleteYou actually don't even need a tank; you need someone to poke Nalak while you throw a spear at his ass and run the other way long enough for the add to run out of health. As for the redirect/despawn Nalak method, that's no longer working as of sometime during 5.3; I wound up eating a few deaths to help a friend get it done.
ReplyDeleteHit up Open raid (http://www.openraid.us) as there's usually an Open Raid group of some sort that's active. Might be able to catch a Nalak group. Add the organizer to your battletag friends list then remove 'em once Nalak is dead.
ReplyDeleteI don't know why, but upon reading the post I thought about the past discussion about content obsolescence and forced grouping....
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the comments and insights. I found a small group that was pulling Nalak for giggles and tagged Nalak with the lance. I survived long enough to get past that quest.
ReplyDeleteNow to collect Titan Runestones.
