For the paladin set, I rather like it. It's been a while since we got a "knight in shining armor" set. Amusingly, if the paladin pops Avenging Wrath, she will seem to have six wings like a seraph.
I'm not sure I'd put it in the very top tier of paladin sets (T2 and T6) but it's definitely above average, and in the next group of sets.
One other nice thing about Transmogrification is that Ret and Prot paladins will be able to change their boots and belt to match the tier set.
The set bonuses have also been revealed:
- Holy, 2P -- After using Divine Favor, the mana cost of your healing spells is reduced by 25% for 15 sec.
- Holy, 4P -- Increases the healing done by your Holy Radiance spell by 20%.
- Protection, 2P -- Your Judgement ability now also grants a physical absorb shield equal to 30% of the damage it dealt.
- Protection, 4P -- Reduces the cooldown of Divine Guardian by 60 sec and increases the radius of its effect by 70 yards.
- Retribution, 2P -- Your Judgement ability has a 50% chance to generate 1 Holy Power.
- Retribution, 4P -- While Zealotry is active your abilities deal 12% more damage.
I rather like the Holy bonuses. The 2pc is a nice bonus to Divine Favor, especially if you pair it with Holy Radiance. The 4pc boosts one of our big weaknesses, and will be a large help in things like Bethilac's or Ryolith's final phases.
I still think of a birdman when I see those shoulders.
ReplyDeleteProbably the best set for Paladins I've seen. Its a fantastic set.
ReplyDeleteIt's quite a decent look, I'm happy with it.
ReplyDeleteYour comment regarding matching belts and boots for Prot and Ret is the thing I'm most looking forward to with transmog. God I'm over those giant DK and warrior belts.
The 4-piece Prot bonus is vaguely annoying, in that it changes Divine Guardian to function exactly the same way it did before they nerfed it in 4.1. Rude!
I have one questions about Transmogrification that no one seems to have an answer to. As you said, T2 (#1) and T6 (#2) were the best looking sets.
ReplyDeleteSo say I farm all of T2. I get all of T13, and transmorgify it to look like T2. But when happens when I farm T14? Can I combine it with an already transmorgified T13 piece and retain the T2 look?
Any idea?
Bronte, I don't think you "combine" pieces in Transmogrification.
ReplyDeleteI think the process goes something like:
Starting materials:
- T2
- T13 (looks like T13)
Transmog
Ending materials:
- T2
- T13 (looks like T2)
So you don't lose your T2 set in the process. You just change the look of T13, using T2 as your template.
So when it comes time to transmog T14, you still have your T2 to use as a template.
That's my understanding at least. I don't know what will happen if you try to chain-transmog. Theoretically, that's an unnecessary case, because you should still have the original armor.
Tier 13 gives you wings!
ReplyDeleteAh I see, so the original is retained after the transmorgification. That will cause some confusion though, if you have sets that look the same.
ReplyDelete"Nice T2 set you're raiding with."
"I know right, it was the best looking set for Paladins!"
"No I mean literally, you are wearing the T2 set."
"What the... awwww crap!"
