Hand of Reckoning

Hand of Protection - short term utility buff cast on friendly target
Hand of Freedom - short term utility buff cast on friendly target
Hand of Salvation - short term utility buff cast on friendly target
Hand of Sacrifice - short term utility buff cast on friendly target
Hand of Reckoning - taunt cast on enemy

One of these is not like the others. Blizzard, please change the name to something more appropriate.

(Just to be clear, Blessing of Reckoning, Seal of Reckoning, and Judgement of Reckoning are also inappropriate names.)

  1. Here's hoping they change the name before it goes live. Just call it "Reckon" and I'll be happy.

  2. Totally agree; it's got nothing to do with the talent, Reckoning, which is also confusing.

Pally boards brainstormed about a thousand better names for this: Rebuke being a good one that I think you mentioned.

  3. I'm holding out for Holy Righteous Hand of Blessed Reckoning Light. Though they would have to work "Seal" in there somewhere.

Either that or another name that shares an abbreviation with another spell we use.

  4. Make holy shock trainable and add a taunt effect, or make the taunt effect a talent way down in the prot tree. In fact, they could something with ret as well...like a health leech or something to pair with seal of blood. I like the idea of having abilities trainable, but customized via the talet trees.

  5. Honestly, when I read it, I thought we were getting a new temporary attack speed buff that we could cast on others.

You know, something like a single target, limited duration, shorter CD BL/Heroism.

Anyway, agreed, this isn't a hand spell.

  6. At least it's better than... what was it before? Hand of Judgement? Keep trying, Blizz...

  7. Holy Hand Grenade gets my vote.

  8. You can call it whatever you like. If you say it often enough people pick up on it, if it's any good people will use the name you made up no matter what the skill is called.

    You have the power

  11. I might have gotten this from somewhere else but I'm for "Divine Challenge".

  12. Isn't Rebuke a Cleric spell?

  13. Yes, seriously. Given the universally negative reaction to the current confusing name, I have a hard time believing that no one in Blizzard thinks that it's a bad idea. Are they just putting us on?

I vote for synonyms of taunt. 'Provoke' seems good, for example.

  14. Bah, sorry. Was thinking of Chastise

  15. I put my suggestion in on the official Suggestion forum. I guess it didn't make the cut...

    "Compulsion"

    Macro as such:
/yell The power of Christ compels you!
    /cast Compulsion

  16. They were probably going to think of a realy good name, but then they remembered there was a really good restaurant across from the office and had lunch instead.

  17. I agree, I'm going to petition a name change from "Hand of Reckoning" to "Frak you Moonkin, my mob!"

  19. Protection, Freedom, Salvation, Sacrifice = Nonoffensive buffs that dont do any damage. (Also acts/words of being Righteous or do unselfish things. Reckoning = Offensive act and is not similar to any protection or nonoffensive "hands". There is nothing wrong about the name. (If you know what "reckoning" means.)

  20. It doesn't make much sense to name it a "Hand" spell, its no where near the other hand spells on my bars.

Also, righteous defence says in the tooltip "...commanding up to 3 enemies..."
but this says "Taunts the target"
Paladins strike me as people who don't "taunt" but "command" their enemies.
