Gaming Log - June 22

World of Warcraft Classic

I managed to find an group going to Shadowfang Keep on my paladin. I even got to DPS instead of tanking or healing. The run went fairly smoothly with the exception of two parts. There was one point where we seemed to get a large number of worgen at once, like we pulled extra packs somehow. We wiped twice there until we managed to pull just one group by itself. The other difficult part was the end boss, Archmage Arugal and his crazy shadowbolts. We wiped there a couple of times.

But we got through, and I got my [Verigan's Fist]! The paladin is up to level 24.

I also did some Loch Modan quests on priest, which is up to 29. Finally, I finished a few quests in Stranglethorn Vale on my rogue, which is level 35. For Alliance, the run just to get to the questing areas in STV is so long. I really miss the flight point at the rebel camp in Retail. I also really need new weapons on the rogue. I think I'm using a level 20 sword and a level 13 dagger.

  1. SFK is one of those places any Mage should try to get to, mainly because you get training in handling various mobs that are immune to one class of your attacks. I finally got in on Card when she was about 32 or so, and it was really worth it. The practice you get there comes in handy when you get to higher level instances in terms of switching your rotation around based on the enemy you encounter.

    1. That's the green bubble which sometimes appears on Worgen, right? I saw it a couple of times, but it didn't seem to affect me.

  2. Getting the Fist at 24 is pretty sweet! Enjoy feeling godly for the next 5-10 levels.

    1. Thanks! Amazing how much easier quests are now.

  3. Congrats! Getting Verigan's Fist is always a nice achievement, while at the same time being a good example of Classic's "sending-you-across-the-world"-quests (which some people hate and others like).

It's a powerful weapon for its level too. This time around I don't have a guild or steady friends who play so I ended up having to do a fair few of the steps myself (farming elites in the cave to get the Kor Gem). It meant I didn't it until almost mid 30's at which point my green weapon was always better

    1. I like the "sending-you-across-the-world" quests, as you put it. Especially if the reward matches the effort, as it does in this case.

I was lucky in that I got [Smite's Hammer] on the Deadmines I run I did for the first quest item. That made farming the Naga elites for the Kor gem much easier. Though I got the gem on the second one, so not much farming required.
